post Off, Off and Awaaaaayyy!!!

March 31st, 2007

No, we’re not going to be away forever… we’re going on a road trip!! These next two weeks, we’ll be visiting the Southwest, visiting national parks such as Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, Mesa Verde, and Arches. We’re also going to stop in Las Cruces, NM, where I grew up, visiting old friends I haven’t seen for 15 years and going to places I used hang out as a kid to see how things are nowadays.

This trip has been a trip long time coming as neither Julie and I have been on a real vacation for a few years now. After weeks of planning, we’re excited to finally be going. This blog was soley made for this trip so we can share our experiences with family and friends. That is why it is so bare right now; it’s brand spanking new. As the days go on, pages are going to start to fill up and the links on the right sidebar will start to grow. The Photo Gallery is also brand new so, at the moment, we have no photo albums to show you, but we hope to have our first post of the trip (with photos) later on tonight when we get to Provo, UT or perhaps tomorrow when we get to the real extraordinary scenery of Bryce Canyon, so keep you’re eyes posted.

A special thanks goes out to Tracy for housesitting for us. We also like to thank the employees at First Tech CU for taking care of our fish, especially Valory and Micki. It wasn’t really planned to happen this way, but Julie decided to bring our fish into work one day and many employees fell in love with our beta and gold fish that it was decided to keep them there while we’re gone. I’m thinking that one of these days, we’ll have a blog post telling of our fish’s adventure as they travel from desk to desk, and, in some cases, house to house.

In closing, I would like to share with you a drawing our friend, Ryan, drew up on the days leading up to the vacation. It’s a drawing symbolizing how I felt at work these last few days. It made me laugh when it was sent to me. Thanks Ryan, you’re a fabulous artist.

We’ll see you on the road.
